Welcome to New Helfta Atelier
On January 2, 2006, this new atelier was ready. It was blessed and the first painting: SIRE GALILEO AND SUOR MARIA CELESTE was depicted here.
As always, I thank God for his wonderful gifts which he knows so well when I am ready to receive them. I thank the wonderful Mathematicians, Gary Towsley and Olympia Nicodemi who are like uncle and aunt to me for their love and generosity in offering me this atelier. The Lord sure allows the painting of the great Mathematician/Scientist, Galileo and his daughter nun, Sour Marie Celeste, to be the first to be painted here in the Towsleys' honor.
Here are some pictures of the atelier.

- Here at New Helfta atelier, I paint icons and do other art projects (
Artist at Work ). A couple of painting classes are also held here for students who are interested in both, the ancient egg tempera and icon techniques together with the Cistercian spirituality which has influenced and nourished me as a sacred painter. The classes are held from March-June and from September-November when the weather is milder.
Also at New Helfta atelier, some friends and I gather as a small spiritual community. We pray the Liturgy of the Hour, share Sunday Gospel readings, discuss spiritual matters, etc. Our goals are to help support, encourage and try to love one another to assist each member grow in faith and holiness as we seek to do God's will and learn how to love him. We dedicated ourselves to love and serve Him by our fidelity and perseverance in living our way of life consecrated to Him, sustained by his grace and mercy.
As the spiritual father of New Helfta, Rev. Father John Eudes Bamberger prayed when he blessed it (through the phone :)), may New Helfta atelier be a place where God's love and glory be revealed, nourished, glorified and shined within and through those who encounter and are influenced by what New Helfta has to offer. Amen.
O our most beautiful Lady of Loving Compassion and most Blessed Mother of our Lord, please intercede for us. Amen.
